Slug-Weighted ABS Chips

An ABS chip is injection-moulded plastic, and on its own it is light. The heft comes from a metal slug laminated inside the chip — which is neither a secret nor a fault, but it is a fact plenty of suppliers leave off the quote. We put it on.

What the slug changes: the sound is a brighter, sharper ring than a moulded composite, the weight is concentrated at the centre, and the surface is a smoother plastic that stacks a little more slickly.
