Do we need casino-quality chips for favors?

Almost never, and we will say so on the quote. The exception is a drink chip that will live in tills and pockets for months — that one earns the durable centre.

Can the two sides be different?

Yes — and they usually should be. The face carries the names and the date or the logo; the reverse carries the message, the venue, or the thing the chip is redeemable for. We proof both sides in the mockup, and no chip needs to carry a number unless you want one.
